FAQ’s

  • We can ship your brand under our permits, relieving you from having to obtain, pay and report to each of these states directly. We will pay the applicable sales and excise taxes to states that we ship to on your behalf and bill those taxes back to you after they are paid. These are monthly, quarterly, and annual. The winery is responsible for collecting destination-based sales tax at the time of the sale. You can supplement our permits with you own, or have all of your own permits. We can ship under your permits or ours, as long as we are keeping compliant in the state. Each winery is responsible for reporting to and paying taxes to the states they hold permits in.

  • We have a 75,000 sq ft. temperature controlled warehouse in Walla Walla. You can store as little as a case of each of your current releases, up to all of your wines at WFS. You can also bring in your wines just before club shipping, and choose to not store with us the rest of the year. If you are only storing a minimum amount of fulfillment wine, and those wines are moving regularly within 30 days for shipping, we do not charge storage for those wines.

  • WFS will act as the shipper, and all change requests are made with the courier by us. Once you get the request from your customer, you forward that request to us and we make the change with the courier. We can change the delivery address, set a future delivery date, intercept to return to sender, or request to hold at a will call facility for the receiver to pick up. Courier change fees are billed back to the winery.

  • The delivery notifications available through our portal are helpful for providing the extra communication with your customers throughout the shipping process. Our dashboard is also convenient for checking which packages are in delivery attempt. We suggest keeping an eye on these shipments, so you can reach out to the customers who have failed deliveries. We also assist with checking delivery attempts. If a shipment has had three failed delivery attempts, we will request the courier to hold the package for pickup at a will call facility, allowing the receiver five additional days to pick up or to make a delivery change request. The winery will be notified the shipment has been returned. We will inspect the contents of the shipment and you will be made aware if there are any apparent damages to the wine. You have the option to reship the package, return the contents to inventory, or to pick up the wine.

  • Yes! You can provide us with your custom boxes for us to ship your wine in. We can include any insert/collateral in your shipments for you (permitting they fit in the shipper box), at no additional fee. We have clients who include gift notes, tasting notes, cards, recipes, corkscrews, tshirts, gifts, etc. We also offer gift packaging options around the holidays.

  • We are constantly monitoring temperatures at departure, route and destination before shipping, and recommend to you to hold a shipment if it is not ideal shipping weather. We will keep shipments in weather hold in our system, where the inventory will already be allocated to the order, and release for shipping as weather allows. We also offer insulated cold pack shippers in the summer, which include frozen gel packs to keep the shipment chilled for 24-48 hours in transit. You will receive a notification if your shipment has been put on weather hold, as well as when it has been released from weather hold. You can also opt to have your customer receive a customized notification as well.
