As of Jan 2024, wineries will need to obtain their own California DtC permit. This is an affordable and easy permit to obtain and only takes a few weeks to get back.

This will be more beneficial to our clients, as taxes to the state of CA vary based on volume, and increase the more you ship. Shipping under our permits means combined volume, and a higher tax rate / additional taxes, which they now backdate.

Also, with the new glass recycling requirement in CA, registrations and payments must be made by product and a sales tax account is required by winery to register for this.
